1. This similar group is similar to Part (2) of 0204 and the first paragraph of 0301, and is cross-searched with almond oil for cosmetic purposes in 0305 in the 12th and earlier editions;
2. the goods in this similar group are similar, according to their function and intended use, to the corresponding medicated goods in Class 5;
3. goods protected across similar groups: deodorants for human beings or for animals (0306, 0309), toiletries (0301, 0306);
4. cotton swabs for cosmetic purposes, cotton wool for cosmetic purposes and lipstick cases are similar to 2110;
5. cotton swabs for cosmetic purposes are similar to cotton swabs for medical purposes in 0506;
6. tissues impregnated with cosmetic lotions, tissues impregnated with make-up removing preparations and make-up removing pads impregnated with make-up removing preparations are similar to wipes impregnated with sanitary disinfectant and disinfectant tissues in 0506 and to toilet paper, paper handkerchiefs, make-up removing tissues, paper table napkins, paper towels and facial tissues of paper in 1603, and are cross-searched with make-up removing tissues in 1603 in the 10th and earlier editions;
7. cosmetics for baths are similar to bath preparations for medical purposes, seawater for medicinal baths and mud for baths in 0501, and are cross-searched with medicinal bath preparations in 0501 in the 10th and earlier editions and with medical bath agents in 0501 in the 9th and earlier editions.

This is the group with the most items in Class 3: skin care, make-up, hair colouring, nail care, perfume, cotton swabs for cosmetic purposes, etc. Official note 1: this group is similar to tattoo ink in Part (2) of 0204 and the first paragraph of 0301, and in 2026 a cross-search with almond oil for cosmetic purposes in 0305 in the 12th and earlier editions was added; note 2: it is similar, according to function and intended use, to the corresponding medicated goods in Class 5; note 3: the cross-group protected goods “deodorants for human beings or for animals” (0306, 0309) and “toiletries” (0301, 0306).
Changes in 2026: almond oil for cosmetic purposes, essential oils for cosmetic purposes, floral water for cosmetic purposes, fragrances for cosmetic purposes and special-effect wax for cosmetic purposes were added (the essential-oil items formerly in 0305 are allocated by use); amber perfume, lavender water and scented water were deleted. From 2026, perfume and fragrance companies select their group by intended use among 0306 (for cosmetics), 0308 (for aromatherapy) and 0113 (for manufacturing) (practical tip).
Cotton swabs for cosmetic purposes, cotton wool for cosmetic purposes and lipstick cases are similar to 2110 (note 4), tissues impregnated with cosmetic lotions are similar to 0506 and 1603 (note 6), and cosmetics for baths are similar to medicated bath preparations in 0501 (note 7).
