1. This similar group is cross-searched with soy flour in 3011 in the 10th and earlier editions;

2. goods protected across similar groups: wheat germ for human consumption (3006, 3008);

3. husked cereals for human consumption and flakes (cereal products) are similar to oat-based food, oat flakes and oatmeal porridge in 3006.

Practice notes (J&C)

This group covers rice, flour, cornflour, cereal products, cereal flakes, coarse grains, etc. Official notes: wheat germ for human consumption is cross-group protected (3006, 3008); husked cereals and flakes (cereal products) are similar to oat-based food in 3006; this group is cross-searched with soy flour in 3011 in the 10th and earlier editions. In 2026, the note to Class 31 deleted the exclusion “rice (Class 30)”, and unprocessed cereals remain in 3102 of Class 31 (practical tip).
