This group covers whetstones, knife sharpeners, sharpening steels, hand-operated abrasive tools, etc. Official notes: the grinding wheels of all kinds in this group are similar to grinding wheels (machine parts) in 0742; “hand-operated hand tools” is a cross-group protected item, belonging to all ten groups 0801–0810.

Common practice in Class 8: filing the single item “hand-operated hand tools” covers all ten groups, after which specific items are added according to the product (practical tip). Abrasive materials (sandpaper, emery) are in 0304 of Class 3. No additions or deletions to this group in 2026.
