1. CDs (audio-video) and optical discs (audio-video) are similar to optical discs, CD-ROMs and optical data carriers in 0901, and are cross-searched with LP optical discs (read-only memory) and optical data media in 0901 in the 9th and earlier editions;
2. records, audio tapes, video tapes, CDs (audio-video), video cassettes and optical discs (audio-video) are similar to electronic publications (downloadable), downloadable ringtones, downloadable music files, downloadable image files, downloadable images for mobile phones and downloadable video files in 0901;
3. learning machines, electronic teaching learning machines and electronic sound-producing devices with books are similar to children's books with electronic sound-producing devices in 1606;
4. humanoid robots with communication and learning functions for assisting and entertaining people are cross-searched with humanoid robots with artificial intelligence in 0901 in the 11th and earlier editions.

This group includes televisions, loudspeakers, headphones, sound and video recording equipment, records and audio-video carriers, monitoring apparatus not for medical use, learning machines, etc. The relationship with 0901 is the most often overlooked: CDs (audio-video) and optical discs (audio-video) are similar to optical discs and optical data carriers in 0901, and records, audio tapes and video tapes are similar to downloadable music, image and ringtone files in 0901 (notes 1 and 2).
Learning machines, electronic teaching learning machines and electronic sound-producing devices with books are similar to children's books with electronic sound-producing devices in 1606 (note 3); educational-electronics companies are advised to also search 1606 of Class 16.
In 2026, “virtual mirrors (interactive electronic display screens)” was added.
Practical tip: items for video-surveillance products are spread across this group (monitoring apparatus not for medical use, cameras), 0907 (communication) and 0920 (alarm apparatus), so check item by item according to product function and do not file in just one group.
