Notes on similar group 1109

1. Goods protected across similar groups: water-tank level control valves (Part (1) of 1107, 1109);

2. fumigation apparatus not for medical use is similar to fumigation apparatus for medical use in 1001;

3. solar collectors and solar energy collectors are similar to solar cookers in 1104 and solar furnaces in 1107;

4. steam bath installations, bathing apparatus, shower water heaters, showers, sauna apparatus, solar water heaters and water heaters for washing (gas or electric) are cross-searched with gas water heaters and electric water heaters in 1104 in the 10th and earlier editions and water heaters in 1104 in the 9th and earlier editions;

5. pipe fittings for bathrooms are similar to pipes (parts of sanitary installations), water pipes for sanitary installations and water conduit installations in 1108, and are cross-searched with drainage pipe installations in 1108 in the 9th and earlier editions.

This group covers bathtubs, toilets, showers, water heaters, sauna apparatus, solar water heaters, fumigation apparatus not for medical use, etc.; it does not include washroom fittings. Official notes: the cross-group protected goods “water-tank level control valves” (Part (1) of 1107, 1109); fumigation apparatus not for medical use is similar to fumigation apparatus for medical use in 1001; solar collectors are similar to solar cookers in 1104 and solar furnaces in 1107; pipe fittings for bathrooms are similar to the pipes in 1108.

In 2026, “showers” was changed to “showers*” and “steam bath installations” was deleted. Bathroom hardware (towel rails, soap dispensers) is in 2106 of Class 21 or 0613 of Class 6, while washbasins are filed in this group (practical tip).
