1. This similar group is cross-searched with the former Part (2) of 0924 — heated socks, heated clothing, heated vests, heated gloves and heated boots — in the 10th and earlier editions, and stoves (heating apparatus) in 1104 in the 9th and earlier editions;

2. electric heating pads not for medical use and electric blankets not for medical use are similar to electric heating pads for medical use and electric blankets for medical use in 1003, and are cross-searched with electric blankets for medical use in 1003 in the 10th and earlier editions.

Practice notes (J&C)

This group covers electric heaters, portable heaters, foot warmers, hot-water bottles, electric blankets not for medical use, electric heating pads not for medical use, etc. Official notes: electric heating pads and blankets not for medical use are similar to those for medical use in 1003; this group is cross-searched with heated socks, heated clothing, etc. in 0924 in the 10th and earlier editions.

Changes in 2026: electrically heated foot muffs were deleted, and heated socks (moved to 2509 of Class 25), heated clothing and heated vests (moved to 2501), heated gloves (moved to 2510) and heated boots (moved to 2507) were removed; the note to Class 11 states “this class does not include, in particular: heated clothing (Class 25)”. From 2026, heated-clothing companies file in Class 25 instead (practical tip).
