Notes on similar group 0503

1. This similar group is similar to 0310;

2. disinfectants for chemical toilets, aromatic deodorisers for toilets and toilet deodorants are similar to toilet cleaners in 0302;

3. disinfectants for chemical toilets are similar to fungicides, bactericides, germicides, sanitary disinfectants and disinfectants in 0501 and to preparations for destroying dry rot fungus, microbicides, soil-sterilising preparations and germicides for agricultural use in 0505, and are cross-searched with soil disinfectants in 0505 in the 9th and earlier editions;

4. bleaching powder (disinfecting) is similar to bleaching salts, bleaching soda, laundry bleach, bleaching liquid and household bleach (decolorant) in 0301, and is cross-searched with bleaching agents in Part (1) of 0104 in the 9th and earlier editions.

This group covers air-purifying preparations, deodorants (not for human or animal use), disinfectants for chemical toilets, mould-removing chemical preparations, refrigerator deodorisers, etc. Official notes: this group is similar to indoor fragrancing preparations in 0310; toilet deodorants are similar to toilet cleaners in 0302; disinfectants for chemical toilets are similar to disinfectants in 0501 and soil-sterilising preparations in 0505; bleaching powder (disinfecting) is similar to bleaching agents in 0301.

Deodorants for human and animal use are in 0306/0309, not in this group; air purifiers are in Class 11 (practical tip). No additions or deletions to this group in 2026.
