Official notes (CNIPA Table of Similar Goods and Services, 2026 text; J&C reference translation)

1. Securities brokerage, carbon-credit brokerage, stockbroking services, brokerage of stocks and bonds, business brokerage, car-brokerage services and futures brokerage are cross-searched with the accepted service "business brokerage" in 3502 and brokerage in 3605 in the 11th and earlier editions;

2. financial evaluation (insurance, banking, real estate) is similar to real-estate appraisal in 3604;

3. tax-auditing services are similar to business auditing, tax planning, tax-filing services and financial auditing in 3507, and are cross-searched with tax preparation in 3507 in the 11th and earlier editions and auditing in 3507 in the 10th and earlier editions;

4. financial evaluation of standing timber is cross-searched with appraisal of construction timber in 3502 in the 9th and earlier editions;

5. financial evaluation of wool is cross-searched with wool appraisal in 3502 in the 9th and earlier editions;

6. financial evaluation of intellectual-property assets is cross-searched with intangible-asset appraisal in 4227 in the 11th and earlier editions.

This group is the largest in Class 36: banking, capital investment, securities brokerage, financial leasing, electronic funds transfer, payment services, financial evaluation, tax-auditing services, etc. Official notes: the various brokerage items are cross-searched with business brokerage in 3502 and brokerage in 3605 in the 11th and earlier editions; financial evaluation is similar to real-estate appraisal in 3604; tax-auditing services are similar to business auditing and tax planning in 3507.

In 2026 “rental of payment-terminal equipment” was added. Note for fintech firms: payment services are in this group, payment software is in 0901 of Class 9, and SaaS is in 4220 of Class 42; financial business is subject to licensing (practical tip).
