This similar group is cross-searched with essential oils for flavouring cakes, essential oils for flavouring beverages and essential oils for flavouring food in 0305 in the 12th and earlier editions and beverage flavourings in 3203 in the 11th and earlier editions.

This group was substantially adjusted in 2026: four “other than essential oils” flavouring items and “vanillin (vanilla substitute)” were deleted, and “flavourings for food (other than ethereal essences and essential oils)” was changed to “flavourings for food”; former notes 1 and 2 were deleted, and the note was changed to cross-search with essential oils for flavouring cakes, beverages and food in 0305 in the 12th and earlier editions and beverage flavourings in 3203 in the 11th and earlier editions.
From 2026, food-flavouring companies file in this group under “flavourings for food”, essential oils for manufacturing are in 0113 of Class 1, and flavourings for tobacco are in 3406 of Class 34 (practical tip).
