1. This similar group is cross-searched with fishhook threaders in 0808 in the 11th and earlier editions, needle threaders in 0808 and entomological pins in 1611 in the 10th and earlier editions, and needles of precious metal and needle cases of precious metal in 1402 in the 8th and earlier editions;
2. needles and sewing needles are similar to sewing-machine needles in 0713.

This group covers needles, sewing needles, knitting needles, needle cases, thimbles, shuttles for tatting, etc. Official notes: needles and sewing needles are similar to sewing-machine needles in 0713; this group is cross-searched with needle threaders in 0808 and entomological pins in 1611 in the earlier editions.
In 2026, “shuttles for tatting” was added and “needle boxes” was changed to “sewing-needle boxes”. Hairpins (260040) and hair clips (260015) are not in this group but in 2602; this group covers sewing-implement items (practical tip).
