Notes on similar group 3016

Official notes (CNIPA Table of Similar Goods and Services, 2026 text; J&C reference translation)

1. This similar group is similar to 3014 and 3015, and is cross-searched with cooking wine in 3301 in the 10th and earlier editions;

2. pickles (condiment) are similar to pickles in 2905;

3. tomato sauce (condiment) and tomato ketchup are similar to tomato purée, tomato juice for cooking and tomato sauce in 2905;

4. seasoned gravy is similar to gravy for cooking, beef consommé, beef consommé bases, meat broth, meat broth concentrates and beef consommé concentrates in 2901 and soups in 2905, and is cross-searched with gravy in 2901 in the 12th and earlier editions and concentrated gravy in 2901 in the 11th and earlier editions.

This group covers seasonings, sauces, monosodium glutamate, spices, tomato sauce (condiment), pickles (condiment), cooking wine, flavourings for cakes, etc. Official notes: this group is similar to 3014 and 3015; pickles (condiment) are similar to pickles in 2905; tomato sauce (condiment) is similar to tomato purée in 2905; seasoned gravy is similar to meat broth in 2901 and soups in 2905.

Changes in 2026: floral water for cooking and hollandaise sauce were added; three condiment items had “other than essential oils” removed; former notes 2 and 6 were deleted (the cross-group protection and the relationship with 3018 were cancelled when the 3018 items were deleted), and the other notes were renumbered. Flavourings for food are in 3018, and edible oils are in 2908 of Class 29 (practical tip).
