Practice notes (J&C)

This group covers stationery, school supplies (stationery), office stationery, folders, ring binders, drawing pins, bookends, passport holders, etc.; it does not include pens, ink, stamps or glue. Official note 2: stationery, school supplies and office stationery are similar to the goods in Part (1) of 1605, 1610, 1612, 1613, 1614, 1615 and 1616 — filing “stationery” makes the mark similar to almost all office groups in Class 16, so a similarity search must cover these groups (practical tip); note 4: chequebook holders and passport holders are similar to cheque-book covers (of leather) in 1802.

In 2026, “stationery sets” was deleted. Pen cases are filed in this group, while stationery gift sets are checked by their specific contents (practical tip).
