1. Goods in the different parts of this similar group are not similar to one another;
2. Part (2) is similar to 0738, and is cross-searched with refrigerator motors in Part (1) in the 9th and earlier editions and with carburettors, pistons (parts of machines or engines), pistons (parts of machines or motors), piston rings, silencers for motors and engines and exhaust systems for motors and engines in 0750, automobile parts and automobile accessories in 1202, motorcycle accessories in 1203 and other engine parts now belonging to 0738 and 0748 in the 7th and earlier editions;
3. fuel savers for motors and engines are cross-searched with fuel economisers and fuel savers in 1107 in the 10th and earlier editions;
4. filters for cleaning cooling air (for engines), oil filters (engine parts), air filters (engine parts), diesel filters (engine parts) and fuel filters (engine parts) are similar to filters (parts of machines or engines) in 0750.

This group has two parts, which are not similar to one another: (1) generators, power-generating equipment, starters for motors and engines, carbon brushes, etc.; (2) engine parts (piston rings, fuel injectors, cylinder heads, filters, etc.). Official notes: Part (2) is similar to 0738; the filters are similar to filters (parts of machines or engines) in 0750; fuel savers for motors and engines are cross-searched with fuel savers in 1107 in the 10th and earlier editions.
For electric-machine companies: Part (1) of 0748 of Class 7 is generators, while “electric motors (not for land vehicles)” are also in this group; motors for land vehicles are in 1202 of Class 12 (practical tip). No additions or deletions to this group in 2026.
