Notes on similar group 2501
Official notes (CNIPA Table of Similar Goods and Services, 2026 text; J&C reference translation)
1. This similar group is cross-searched with heated clothing and heated vests in 1111 in the 12th and earlier editions, heated clothing and heated vests in the former Part (2) of 0924 in the 10th and earlier editions, and saris in 2505 in the 9th and earlier editions;
2. goods protected across similar groups: clothing (2501, 2502, 2503, 2504, 2505), waterproof clothing (2501, 2504);
3. underpants and women's panties are similar to menstruation underwear and sanitary panties in 0506, and are cross-searched with sanitary briefs, sanitary close-fitting underpants, sanitary shorts, sanitary women's pants and menstrual shorts in 0506 in the 9th and earlier editions;
4. children's clothing is similar to 2502;
5. clothing is similar to wedding dresses in 2513.

This is the core of Class 25: clothing, shirts, sweaters, coats, underwear, children's clothing, heated clothing, etc. Official note 2: “clothing” is a cross-group protected item (2501, 2502, 2503, 2504, 2505) and “waterproof clothing” (2501, 2504); note 3: underpants are similar to menstruation underwear and sanitary panties in 0506; note 4: children's clothing is similar to 2502; note 5: clothing is similar to wedding dresses in 2513.
Changes in 2026: heated clothing and heated vests were moved in from 1111 of Class 11, with note 1 amended accordingly to cross-search with 1111 in the 12th and earlier editions; “jodhpurs (clothing)” was changed to “jodhpurs”; the note to Class 25 changed “judo and karate uniforms” to “martial-arts uniforms”. A clothing brand filing “clothing” covers 2501–2505; footwear (2507), headgear (2508) and socks (2509) must be filed separately (practical tip).
