Notes on similar group 2202

Official notes (CNIPA Table of Similar Goods and Services, 2026 text; J&C reference translation)

1. Goods in the different parts of this similar group are not similar to one another, but camouflage nets in Part (1) are similar to camouflage covers in Part (2);

2. Part (5) is similar to umbrellas in 1802, and is cross-searched with the accepted goods garden parasols in the 12th and earlier editions;

3. laundry nets are cross-searched with laundry bags in 2112 in the 7th and earlier editions.

This group has five parts: (1) nets, fishing nets, laundry nets; (2) covers not specially adapted for vehicles, camouflage covers; (3) sails; (4) tarpaulins, canvas, awning cloth, rubberised cloth; (5) tents, awnings, hammocks, garden parasols (added in 2026). Official notes: the parts are not similar to one another, but camouflage nets are similar to camouflage covers; in 2026 note 2 was added: Part (5) is similar to umbrellas in 1802 and is cross-searched with the accepted goods garden parasols in the 12th and earlier editions.

Outdoor-products companies: tents and canopies are in Part (5) of this group, sleeping bags are in 2406 of Class 24 (baby sleeping bags were in 2502 in historical editions), mountaineering backpacks are in 1802 of Class 18, and from 2026 garden parasols are filed in this group rather than Class 18 (practical tip). Editor's note: note 2 says “similar to umbrellas in 1802”, but umbrellas (180043) and the like are now in 1804, so search both 1802 and 1804.
