This group covers insulating materials, insulating paper, insulating oils, insulating varnish, capacitor paper, etc. Official note: the items for insulation, heat insulation and soundproofing are cross-group protected with Part (1) of 1705; in 2026, “polyester staple fibre for insulation, heat insulation and soundproofing” was added and written into the note.

Insulating varnish is in this group, not in 0205 of Class 2; insulating gloves for the prevention of accidents (090901) are now in 0919 of Class 9, and note 1 to 0919 cross-searches with the insulating gloves of this group in the 11th and earlier editions; electric wires and cables are in 0912 of Class 9 (practical tip).
