Funeral ceremony services accompanying cremation 045-708

01-01-2002 - "Cremation [funerary services]" was transferred from Class 42 to Class 45 due to the restructuring of Class 42 that was implemented in the 8th edition of the Nice Agreement. 06-18-2009 - "Cremation [funerary services]" refers to the memorial or religious service. On 07-02-2009, "Cremation [funerary services]" was changed to "Funeral services accompanying cremation" to avoid confusion with the actual act of cremation listed in the Manual in Class 40. On 01-01-2016, this 07-02-2009 entry was modified to add the word "ceremony" to clarify the nature of the services in compliance with the Nice Classification, Tenth edition, version 2016, effective 01-01-2016. Cremation services were transferred from Class 40 to Class 45 based on the Nice Classification, Tenth edition, version 2013, effective 01-01-2013. Accordingly, cremation services are now classified in Class 45, as opposed to Class 40.
