10-25-2007 - Transferred from Class 42 to be consistent with the other forensic science services in the Manual. On 01-01-2024, this 10-25-2007 entry "Examination of fingerprints and handwriting for the purpose of forensic scientific intelligence" was modified by deleting the word "scientific" because the term "forensic scientific intelligence" is overbroad under Nice 12-2024 and includes scientific research in Class 42 and services for forensic intelligence purposes in Class 45. Forensic intelligence relates to crime prevention actions for law enforcement and typically involves gathering and using criminal data patterns from various cases to help detect, prevent, investigate, and prosecute serial crimes.
