09-25-2014 - The term "awards" is indefinite and overbroad, and the nature of the awards must be indicated for both likelihood of confusion and classification purposes. In this case, the awards are in the nature of plaques, and plaques are classified according to material composition under USPTO ID policy. Therefore, "Plaques of {indicate bone, plastic, wax, wood} for use as awards" are in Class 20 based on the material composition of the goods. The purpose of the plaques, "for use as awards," does not determine classification of the goods. On 01-01-2017, this 09-25-2014 entry was amended by deleting the term "bone" in compliance with Nice 11-2017. On 01-01-2026, this 01-01-2017 entry was modified in compliance with Nice 13-2026 by adding "resin" to the list of material compositions that may be indicated.
