Official English notes
Event data recorders are commonly called black boxes, and "Electronic black boxes for recording data" are classified in Class 9. Event data recorders sold as components of land vehicles are classified in Class 12, however, because goods that are components sold as part of other finished goods are classified in the same class as the finished goods. TMEP §1402.05(a).
