On 01-01-2016, this 07-20-2004 entry was modified to replace "[not for stationery or household purposes]" with "for industrial purposes" to make clear the purpose of the goods and the justification for classification in Class 1. Under Nice 10-2016, "adhesives, other than for stationery or household purposes" is indefinite and overly broad because the purpose of the goods is unclear. Certain specialized adhesives that are not used for stationery or household purposes are classified in classes other than Class 1, e.g., dental adhesives, in Class 5, and adhesives for cosmetic use, in Class 3. Please consult the Manual for examples of adhesives in other classes.
