Australian Trademark Classification (IP Australia Pick List)

The Australian trademark classification follows the Nice Classification and has 45 classes: classes 1–34 cover goods and classes 35–45 cover services.

Each class represents a particular type of goods or services and helps applicants define the scope of their trademark registration correctly.

In Australia, trademark applications are filed with and examined by IP Australia. Choosing the right class affects both the validity of the registration and the scope of legal protection.

This classification helps applicants to understand the scope and main content of each class, quickly identify the class of their goods or services, and improve the accuracy and success rate of their applications.

Data version: English terms are taken from the IP Australia Pick List of goods and services, arranged in the 45 Nice classes. On 9 October 2026 this site read IP Australia's official list pages and verified the entry counts class by class, and on 13 October 2026 the table was updated to match that official list: the site now lists 143,076 entries. Chinese and Spanish terms are reference translations. The reference number is this site's own number, not an IP Australia identifier. For filings, please rely on the official IP Australia source. Selected reference translations were further revised on 13 October 2026.
