1-1-2012 This entry of 6-3-2010 was deleted because it is no longer acceptable under the Tenth Edition of the Nice Agreement, which requires either specification that dietetic substances in Class 5 are adapted for medical use or other wording to make clear that the substance is for the treatment of a medical condition. The nature of the food or beverage (e.g., bread, tea, etc.) must also be specified in the identification. On 01-01-2017, the status of the 01-01-2012 entry was changed from "D"-Deleted to "A"-Added. Effective 01-01-2017, dietetic beverages adapted for medical purposes is acceptable; specification of the particular dietetic beverage item is acceptable, but it is not required.
