On 09-13-12, the 11-26-2009 entry was modified by inserting "comprised of synthetic textile materials, excluding artificial leather," to make clear the justification for classifying these goods in Class 22. Straps are generally classified according to the function or purpose of the goods. However, straps for securing items and general purpose straps are classified in Classes 6, 18, or 22 depending on the material composition of the goods. Straps with functions that are not covered by the Class Headings are also classified in Classes 6, 18, or 22 according to material composition.
