Medical apparatus in the nature of protective barriers for placement around patients for infection control purposes are freestanding barriers placed between patients and medical personnel during examination and treatment to contain and prevent the spread of potential contagions. These goods are classified in Class 10, based on the wording "Surgical, medical, dental and veterinary apparatus and instruments" in the Nice Class 10 Heading, and by analogy to "surgical drapes" in the Nice Alphabetical List in Class 10.
