Transferred from Class 1 - this is more in the nature of the other pest destruction products in 5 like pesticides, miticides, algicides. 4/15/10 - The word "treating" was inserted before the open text brackets because treatment is a characteristic of Class 5. Prevention is a characteristic of Class 1 for these goods so the addition of this term in Class 5 distinguishes the goods in this class from those in Class 1. On 03-28-2013, the 04-15-2010 entry was modified by changing "Mold inhibitor for" to "Mold inhibiting chemicals for" to make clear the nature of the goods. Chemical preparations for preventing growth of organisms are generally classified in Class 1, while chemical preparations for treating or destroying organisms, e.g., disinfectants, antibacterial and antimicrobial preparations, etc., are generally classified in Class 5.
