On 01-01-2024, this 05-21-2009 entry was deleted because the Nice Alphabetical List entry "plant extracts for use in the manufacture of cosmetics" in Class 1, which serves as the basis for this entry, no longer appears in the Nice Alphabetical List. This wording is no longer acceptable. This entry was replaced by "Plant extracts, other than essential oils, for use in the manufacture of cosmetics" in Class 1. On 01-01-2026, the status of this 01-01-2024 entry was changed from "D" deleted to "X" example. Please note that "Plant and herb extracts, other than essential oils, for use in the manufacture of cosmetics" is no longer acceptable. Under Nice 13-2026, essential oils are classified by function or purpose. Therefore, "other than essential oils" is no longer required to justify classification in classes other than Class 3. "Plant extracts for use in the manufacture of cosmetics" appears in the Nice Alphabetical List in Class 1.
