6-11-09 - Note that there are adhesives that are specialized for fields other than industrial, i.e., manufacturing, that are in other classes, e.g. medical adhesives in 5 or 10 depending on the specific nature, construction adhesives in 19, etc. Please consult the "adhesive" entries in the Manual for exceptions to the industrial adhesives in Class 1. 01-17-2013: The Manual Note inserted on 6-11-2009 contains an error. Construction industry adhesives are in Class 1 - not Class 19, as indicated above. This fill-in-the-blank entry is intended for use by applicants who would like to specify a particular industrial use for the adhesives sold under the applied-for trademark. However, not all adhesives are for industrial use. Medical adhesives for binding wounds are in Class 5, for example, and Adhesives for cosmetic use are in Class 3.
