07-02-2009 - search "sleds" by itself in order to see sleds that are in classes other than class 28. It is for this reason that "for recreational use" is an important part of the ID in Class 28. On 01-01-2014, "Sleds [sports articles]" was added to the Nice Classification, Tenth edition, version 2014. Pursuant to this change, the primary purpose of a sled is that of a sports article in Class 28. However, "Rescue sleds" are classified in Class 9 because their primary purpose is a life-saving apparatus and "Sleds for transport purposes" are classified in Class 12 because their primary purpose is for transport. 01-01-2018 - Rescue sleds are classified in Class 12 as apparatus for the transport of people by land under Nice 11-2018.
