Egypt
Egypt's intellectual property (IP) system is jointly administered by the Egyptian Patent Office, EGPO and the Trade Marks and Industrial Designs Office, both under the Ministry of Trade and Industry, MTI.
Egypt was one of the first countries in the Middle East and Africa to establish a modern IP regime, combining Arab civil law traditions with international treaty frameworks and providing comprehensive protection for patents, trade marks, industrial designs, copyright and geographical indications.
